Was gibt es nicht schon alles an Scifi und Fantasy Welten. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Star Trek, Perry Rhodan, Game of Thrones und etliche mehr. Kann man da auf einen weiteren Kosmos verzichten? Na klar. Man kann immer auf etwas verzichten! Vielleicht kann man sich ja auch alleine von Pizza ernähren. Oder von Lasagne, wenn einem das lieber ist. Wenn ich also nun meinen Beitrag zum popkulturellen Genuss darbiete, tue ich das als Überzeugungstäter. Ich bin der Meinung dass jede gut durchdachte Fantasy oder Scifi Welt ihre Leserschaft findet. Was man bei dem einem Kosmos vermisst, wird in einem anderen gefunden. Was man dort bemängelt, wird hier geliebt, usw. etc. Ausserdem wächst die Welt weiter und neue Generationen von Lesern werden sich neue Welten suchen, in die sie eintauchen können. Schön wenn Asgaroon diese Leser bedienen kann.
Warum das Fantasy Universum eines deutschen Autoren? Muss sich Deutschland hinter den anglo – amerikanischen Autoren verstecken? Zugegeben, der Markt ist kleiner und dieser Umstand ist der Sprache geschuldet. Deshalb ist die Übersetzung eines deutschen Textes ins Englische natürlich ein immenser Vorteil und wird von den Autoren und den Verlagen natürlich angestrebt. Was den Ideenreichtum der deutsch/germanischen Kultur angeht, halte ich sie für die ergiebigste Quelle für Schriftsteller, die sich der modernen Phantastik widmen. Oft wird behauptet, Tolkien habe seine Inspiration hauptsächlich aus der Artus Sage bezogen, aber ich halte dagegen, dass er die Hauptmotive eher aus dem Nibelungenlied entnommen hat. Da der Herr der Ringe als das Schlüsselwerk der modernen Fantasy gesehen wird, ist es daher nur legitim dem alten deutschen Sagenschatz seinen gebührenden Platz als Nahrungsgeber dieses Genres zuzuerkennen. So gesehen ist die neue Fantasy Serie Asgaroon, die vor einer Scifi Kulisse spielt, in den Händen eines deutschen Autoren gut aufgehoben, der sich ebenfalls aus den Motiven des germanischen und griechischen Sagenwelt orientiert.

If now i do my contribution to pop culture enjoyment, I’m doing this as a conviction. I think that any thoughtful fantasy or scifi world finds its audience. What is missing in a cosmos is found in another. What is criticized here, loved here. etc. etc. In addition, the world continues to grow and new generations of readers will be looking for new worlds, in which you can immerse yourself. Good if Asgaroon can serve this kind of reader.
